• International intercollegiate competition held by SAE to design, build and race a single-seat offroad vehicle from scratch

• All teams must use an unmodified 10hp four-stroke engine

• Strict design requirements are provided for chassis, overall dimensions, driver protection, and overall vehicle design which must be adhered to in order to pass technical inspection

• Teams are responsible for managing design, team involvement, travel, and raising funding or sponsorship associated with building and racing the vehicle

• Until 2012, vehicles must be fully amphibious for one of three races per year
